ABOUT US | ROSS BREEDERS ZAMBIA LTD.
Ross Breeders Zambia was incorporated on 1 December 1999. It comprised of a Breeder farm and broiler hatchery in Lusaka and a parent operation in Chongwe.
In July 2009, we commissioned our first animal stockfeed mill in Lusaka, which produces all our breeder and broiler feed requirements and supplies stockfeed to external customers throughout Zambia and some exports into neighbouring countries.
In 2014, a new broiler hatchery was commissioned at our breeder farm in Chongwe, which, together with the expansion of our parent sites, substantially increased our broiler day-old chick and hatching egg production.
In addition to our broiler farms, we have an active outgrower program to produce the broilers required for the abattoirs’ daily production.
In 2020, we commissioned another stock feed mill in the Copperbelt province, which supplies feed to customers in the region. Our Copperbelt site includes a distribution center for processed chicken that has centralized distribution of processed chicken into this area.
Ross Breeders Zambia currently produces broiler day-old chicks, broiler hatching eggs, stock feed, and processed chicken products.
Our retail division has grown over the years to include 50 depots and over 100 reseller outlets that retail day-old chicks, feed, and dressed chicken across the country.
